Today-Rated Tigers Roar Past Hickman County

Murray, Ky.--Four Murray High players reached double figures here Monday night as the Tigers roared past visiting Hickman county, 67-45.

 

Ray Lane, a 5-11 senior guard, led the way with a game-high 22 points.  Tyrone McCuistion and Danny Hudspeth chipped in a dozen each, and Glenn Jackson followed with 11.

 

Robert Barclay led the Falcons with 15 points, and Sidney Spates netted 12.

 

The Tigers led by only six points at the first stop, but they outscored Hickman County 12-5 in the second quarter and from that point on it was easy sailing for the top-ranked quint in Western Kentucky.

 

Murray cashed 31 of 57 field goal attempts for 54 percent, and added three of four free throws, while Hickman County managed only 15 of 52 floor efforts for 29 percent.  The Falcons also canned 15 of 24 charity tosses for 62 percent.

 

Murray dominated the boards, out-rebounding the visitors, 36-25.

 

The Tigers, now 14-2, will host Fancy Farm tonight, while Hickman County, 12-7 entertains Sedalia.
